What is Out-of-Band Authentication (OOBA)?

»

One of the ways to combat online fraud is to require an additional verification that occurs outside of the online system, commonly referred to as Out-of-Band Authentication, or OOBA. It requires a user to go “out-of-band” from Online and Mobile Banking and onto a separate system – phone or text – to validate your identity before certain activities can be completed or when you log in from an unrecognized device.
