Foreign Checks

A foreign check is a check drawn on a financial institution outside the United States — even if the check is written in U.S. dollars.

Important things to know:

• Foreign checks cannot be deposited using Mobile Deposit
• Foreign checks are not accepted at ATMs
• Acceptance of foreign checks at branches is limited and subject to review
• Processing times may be significantly longer than for domestic checks
• Additional fees may apply if a foreign check is accepted

Mobile Deposit Restrictions

Mobile Deposit is available only for eligible U.S. checks. The following items are not eligible for Mobile Deposit:

• Foreign checks
• Checks drawn on non‑U.S. banks
• Checks payable in foreign currency

Attempting to deposit an ineligible item may result in the deposit being rejected.
