I want to drive my car to Mexico or Canada. What do I need?

Here are the requirements to drive your vehicle to Mexico or Canada.

• You must have a signed letter of authorization from Golden 1 to cross the border with your vehicle.
• To obtain the authorization letter, you must have all loans and accounts in good standing.
• For existing members, the vehicle loan must be a minimum of 6 months old and have at least 6 months of on-time payments as agreed prior to approval.
• You can request the authorization letter by contacting the Member Service Contact Center at 1-877-GOLDEN 1 (1-877-465-3361) or by visiting a Golden 1 branch.
• For new members, the vehicle loan must be a minimum of 12 months old and have at least 6 months of on-time payments as agreed prior to approval.
• The loan cannot have been had a delinquent payment (30 days or more late) within the last 12 months.
• If registration is due before or during the dates of travel, the registration must be paid prior to leaving the U.S.

Once the request is submitted, please allow at least 5 business days to receive the original signed letter from Golden 1. Take the original letter with you when crossing the border as a copy of the authorization letter may be denied.
