How the QR code works in Zelle®

You can use a QR code with Zelle® through the Golden 1 Mobile Banking app to do the following:

  • Send money or pay another Zelle user by scanning their QR code.
  • Save a Zelle® user’s QR code to send money in the future.
  • Use your own QR code to receive money.
  • Scan, print, or share your own QR code.
To send money to or pay a Zelle® user/recipient using their QR code
  1. Log in to Golden 1 Mobile Banking.
  2. Tap Transfer & Pay in the bottom toolbar.
  3. Tap Send Money with Zelle®.
  4. Select the Send button.
  5. Tap Scan the QR Code to Send Money with Zelle® – The Scan screen will appear with leading lines.
  6. Use your phone to align the recipient’s QR code.
  7. The Verify Information box will appear with the receiver’s information. Make sure it is the correct person and then tap Continue.
  8. Enter the amount to send and tap Review.
  9. Review the payment information and click Send.

A New Recipient pop up screen will appear asking you if you want to add the recipient to your Zelle® list. Click Yes or No. If you select Yes, the recipient and their QR code image will be saved and will appear in the Quick Send options for future use.

To send money to a saved Zelle® recipient using a QR image
  1. Log in to the Golden 1 Mobile Banking App.
  2. Tap Transfer & Pay located at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Tap Send Money with Zelle®.
  4. Selected the Send button.
  5. Tap Scan the QR Code to Send Money with Zelle® – The Scan screen will appear with leading lines.
  6. Tap Select From My Photos at the bottom of the Scan screen.
  7. Select the QR code saved image from your photos.
  8. The Verify Information pop up will appear with the receiver’s information. Make sure it is the correct person and then tap Continue.
  9. Enter the amount to send and tap Review.
  10. Review the payment information and click Send.
Use your QR code to receive money
  1. Log in to Golden 1 Mobile Banking.
  2. Tap Transfer & Pay in the bottom toolbar.
  3. Tap Send Money with Zelle®.
  4. Tap the Request icon.
  5. Tap the QR code icon next to Quick Send.
  6. Tap the My Code tab at the top to view your QR code.

Scan QR to receive money: You can show your Zelle® QR code to the person sending you money. They will use their device to scan your QR code and follow steps to send you money.

Print your QR code: To print your QR code, make sure your device is connected to a printer and then tap the printer icon.

Share your QR code: To share your QR code, tap the share icon and select from the options provided by your device (e.g., AirDrop™, SMS text message, email).
