How Zelle Works

At Golden 1, any member at least 18 years of age in good standing with a checking account will be eligible to use Zelle®. When you enroll with Zelle® through your Golden 1 Mobile Banking app or Golden 1 Online Banking, the following information is shared with Zelle®:

  • Your name
  • The name of your financial institution
  • The email address or U.S. mobile number you enrolled

No sensitive account details are shared – those stay here at Golden 1.

When someone sends money to your enrolled email address or U.S. mobile number, Zelle® looks up the email address or U.S. mobile number in its "directory" and notifies Golden 1 of the incoming payment. Golden 1 then directs the payment into your bank account, all while keeping your sensitive account details private.
